PAYMENT POLICY

Medical services are provided and billed by Anthony Brown Psychology.
We have a Medicare provider number registered with Medicare and are willing to provide that on request.


Sessions are available under the following programs Medicare Mental Health Care Plan,
Workers Compensation Insurance, Department of Veteran Services (DVA), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Psychological Therapy Services (PTS) and privately 

SESSION INFORMATION

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

In the first session, we assess the issues at hand, set goals and start working on our plan.

Over the next few weeks, we develop the plan further, building new skills and mindsets.

You're encouraged to practice these new skills in between sessions to develop them further.

Often clients may find that improvements can be slow at first, as they learn these new skills, and build a good plan. 

Many clients find that there is an improvement after 4-6 sessions, although progress is different for every individual. 


It is important to remember, especially with complex issues that the road to healing is not linear. Setbacks and relapses are a part of the process 

PAYMENT

How much will a session cost?

A full fee session costs $160. If you have a Mental Health Plan,  you will receive a rebate of 87.45 the day after your session. We do offer sliding scale payment options depending on the situation, please discuss prior to appointment. 

People may receive sessions through the PTS Seek Out Support (SOS) program or other PTS programs if they have an appropriate referral from their GP.

We also see people with approved Workers Compensation claims and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) claims. When making a booking, please provide your Workers Compensation or NDIS referral information so we can process your application.

 

What billing or insurance information will I receive?

​You will receive an invoice for your bill after your session. If you provide the bank details for the account in which you would like your medicare rebate to be paid, our reception staff can pay your rebate into your account after your session and you should receive your rebate the next day. Otherwise, you can claim your rebate through your invoice and through the Medicare app.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice carry a cancellation fee $50.


If you do not pay this fee, you will not be able to book in another session. We encourage all patients to call us to talk about why they missed a session.
